In this post, we are taking a closer look at the GoPro Charger and power bank from Smatree. This unique power bank has 2 charging bays for the Hero 5 Black and Hero 6 Black batteries. On the other end, it has a normal USB port that can be used as a more traditional power bank for charging your smartphone or even your GoPro Fusion. What I really like about the Smatree power bank is that it is an all in one solution. Normally if I was packing my backpack for a photo hiking trip I would pack a power bank and I would also have to pack some sort of GoPro charger with all the corresponding charging cables. With the Smatree GoPro power bank and charger, I need only pack one thing.

The Smatree GoPro power bank allows you to charge 2 Hero 5/6 batteries simultaneously in about 2 hours or under. This allows you to keep shooting longer without having to worry about running out of battery power. 10000 mAh allows you to charge your GoPro batteries about 7 to 8 times.

CONS: There are a few things that I don’t like about the Smatree GoPro Power Bank and they are pretty minor. The first issue is more cosmetic. It has a very shiny gloss finish and gets smudged and covered in fingerprints very easily. Not a big issue, but I seem to be forever polishing the unit. The second issue I have found is the battery compartment door can be difficult to close and even more difficult to open when batteries are mounted inside, it’s a very tight fit for the batteries.

All in all its a handy little charger/power bank and it has earned a spot in my camera bag and made it to my list of top 5 must have GoPro accessories for 2018.
