Pairing GoPro Remo Remote to Hero 5 Black

1. Power on your GoPro Hero 5 Black.
2. From the main screen, swipe down from the top to bring up the menu and then select connect.
3. From the connect menu select “Connect New Device”
4. Now select the option “Remo (Voice Remote)” A new message will appear on the Hero 5 screen asking you to power on the Remo Remote. Set the Hero 5 Black aside.
5. Now press and hold the small power button on the side of the Remo Remote for 8 seconds.
6. A blue LED light will blink on the Remo while in pairing mode, once it is finished you will get a connected confirmation on the Hero 5 screen and your Remo Remote will vibrate to confirm it is connected. At this point, it is a good idea to check to make sure it was successful by doing a test. Press the record button on the Remo and you Hero 5 Black should start to record. In the event that it didn’t Work, repeat the steps above.

1. Power on your Hero 5 Session by pressing the power button on the back of the unit.
2. Use the small power button on the back to cycle through the settings menu until you reach the setting titled “Connection Settings” Press the record button on the top to select this menu.
3. Now press the power button on the back again and cycle through until you find “Connect New Device” press the record button to select this option. Continue pressing the record button to cycle through until the word “Remo” appears on the LCD screen.

Trouble Shooting The GoPro Remo Remote Connection Issues

If you are having problems connecting the GoPro Remo Remote to your GoPro Cameras you can try the following. First please note, the GoPro Remo Remote is only comparable with the Hero 5 cameras. Previous generations of GoPro’s will not pair with the Remo. If you are having problems pairing with Hero 5 Black, make sure “Wireless Connections” is enabled in the connection menu.
