A few days back GoPro launched a new firmware update for the GoPro Hero 10 Black (v1.16) that added some new performance modes to help extend battery life as well as a mode to help prevent overheating when the camera is filming stationary. These new modes are called ” Extended Battery” mode and “Tripod/Stationary” mode. You can enable these new modes by entering the setting and selecting the new yellow lightning icon. There really is no magic involved these new modes simply disable some features and limit some resolutions and frame rates. This is is something we could always have done manually but it does make it easier and more convenient.
