Today we are taking a look at the triple charger by Freewell for the GoPro Hero 5 Black. This charger has a nice slim design that easily fits into your pocket and doesn’t take up much room in your backpack or camera bag. It has a nice carbon fiber look and feels durable and strong. This GoPro battery charger is capable of charging 3 GoPro Hero 5 batteries simultaneously in just under 2 hours which is really nice.

One of the best features of this battery charger is the fact that it is an enclosed unit. This design allows for the charger to act as a battery case for your Hero 5 batteries instead of having them floating around loose in your camera bag, they are quite small and can be hard to find that way. The other benefit is you can plug the Freewell GoPro Charger into a power bank and charge all your batteries on the go. Because it has a lid the batteries stay securely in place while charging even if cycling or hiking, jostling around in your bag won’t knock them loose.
During my testing, I found that using an Anker power bank I was able to charge 3 batteries all drained to under 5% in just under 2 hours. You can use any USB socket to use this charger. The port on the charging unit is a USB-C type socket and comes with a USB-C cable. There are built-in LED lights to signify when the batteries are charging. Red LED’s means the batteries are charging and when they turn blue they are finished.
All in all, I am extremely pleased with this GoPro charger and would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a multi-charger for their GoPro Hero 5 Batteries. You can watch our YouTube video review below.
