One of the new upgrades on the DJI Mavic Air 2 is a more powerful battery that gives the Mavic Air 2 an impressive 34 minutes of flight time compared to the original Mavic Air that had only 21 minutes of flight time. This allows you to be in the air longer getting the shots you want without having to land and swap out batteries quite as often. When companies like DJI give a rating for a drone battery it is done in perfect conditions with the drone moving ahead at a slow consistent speed. Of course in real-world flying conditions, you will not achieve those same numbers as flying style, wind, and other environmental factors can greatly reduce flight time. The same goes for hover tests, they give you a good feel for flight time but are not fully accurate, but are interesting to do none the less.
In this test, I was able to hover the Mavic Air 2 in my backyard for 29 minutes and 11 seconds. Now I would have to say it was probably closer to 30 minutes as I started the timer about 20 seconds after take-off plus the drone had been powered on and idle for a few minutes before I started the test.
