As you read in the title of this post in my opinion the DJI Mavic Air 2 is the best drone to get released in 2020 and I think due to its incredible capabilities is going to remain one of the top drones going into 2021. I have created many YouTube videos, tutorials, and posts about the Mavic Air 2 over the past several months but after time I like to go in and do a long-term review after using the product to see if my initial thoughts are still true.

I have been flying the Mavic Air 2 for over 6 months now and I was really impressed with this drone when it was first released back in the spring and I am even more impressed with it today. This is because when DJI releases a product they tend to find ways to make it even better and more capable by adding new features with firmware updates. We have seen updates that have greatly enhanced the Fly app making it more robust and fine-tuned. They added zoom capabilities which is a new great feature and they have added support for the Smart Controller.

I have been quite pleased with the photo and video quality of the Mavic Air 2, make sure you take the time to watch my video review below to see some video samples of what this drone is capable of. I am not a master pilot or cinematographer by any stretch of the imagination but the content I have been able to capture with the Mavic Air 2 in my opinion is just brilliant, I think most would have a hard time if looking at footage from the Mavic 2 Pro beside the Mavic Air 2, picking which shot is from which drone. Although the sensor is a little smaller is does a great job.

DJI has included Ocusync 2.0 which allows you to have a nice solid connection between the controller and the drone even when flying in congested WIFI areas such as a city. This also allows you to get good range, I am not a person who flys very far but Ocusync 2.0 allows you to confidently fly far enough to be able to get the shots you want. The Mavic Air 2 also changes the way we access some of our intelligent flight modes, they are all built into one easy to use interface and can be accessed by drawing a box on the screen or selecting an object. Point of interest or tracking has never been easier to use, and now being able to set a point of interest around a moving subject is just brilliant and can allow you to easily capture dynamic shots that before were just not possible. With the tools that DJI provides with the Mavic Air 2, new pilots can easily capture shot just like the pros.

As stated I think the Mavic Air 2 is the best drone to purchase in 2020, its a great price for what you get, and no matter, if you are brand new to the drone hobby or a seasoned pilot the Mavic Air 2, will please most pilots.
